The 5.40 series only receives security fixes now; 5.44 is the current stable series. 5.44.0 contains all fixes from the 5.40.x maintenance releases, among them CVE-2024-56406, CVE-2025-40909, CVE-2026-8376, CVE-2026-57432 and CVE-2026-13221. Changes: - refresh patches; 900-use-rm-force and 920-Revert-perl-127606 needed manual rebasing, the others only have context or offset changes - add the Configure variables introduced since 5.40 (d_fdopendir, d_getentropy, i_stdckdint, i_sysrandom, intmaxsize) to base.config; i_stdckdint is left undefined because <stdckdint.h> only ships with GCC 14 and newer, and the __builtin_*_overflow fallback perl then uses generates the same code - set i32dformat, u32oformat, u32xformat and u32XUformat in architecture.config; they were left empty before, and 5.44 now refuses to build util.c with empty I32df/U32of/U32xf/U32Xf - add perlbase-source for the new source::encoding pragma Release notes: https://perldoc.perl.org/5.42.0/perldelta https://perldoc.perl.org/5.44.0/perldelta Signed-off-by: Sander van Deijck <sander@vandeijck.com> |
